REDDING, Calif. - The 10th anniversary of the Sundial Bridge is right around the corner. A two week long celebration called Celebrate 10 kicks off June 20. The celebration begins with performances by Bandaloop, a vertical dancing group that will be suspended by cables hanging from the bridge. There will be live music by the North State Symphony Friday night.
The celebration continues with summer solstice activities on June 21. The activities begin at 10 a.m. and continue all morning. The Sundial Music Festival starts Saturday and brings you eight nights of live music at the Riverfront Amphitheater. All of the music events during the festival are free.
"From all the stories I've heard, it's just put us on the map for something more than just a stop for gas on your way up or down I-5, so it's a really exciting time to celebrate the 10 years it's been here," said public relations manager Cristy Kidd.
Brews By the Bridge will be held on Saturday, June 27. Samples of beers from 10 area breweries will be on sale from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
You can even float down the Sacramento River as part of Sundial Splash. It's a community-wide public float that will be taking place June 28. You can register at here.
The Sundial Celebration concert is June 28 from 6 p.m. until 1 a.m. and will feature local artists. You can purchase tickets for $10 in advance, and $15 at the door.
Celebrate 10 wraps up with the Freedom Festival on July 4. Entertainment begins at 7:30 p.m. and the fireworks show starts at 10 p.m.
