REDDING, Calif. - DowntownRedding.com held its "Fill-a-Bag, Feed-a-Family" food drive this Thursday in front of Outwest Furniture in downtown Redding. The month of October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. All donations went to One Safe Place in Redding.
Donations included non-perishable items like crackers, low-sugar cereals, pasta and more.
"We have a huge need for donated food because people come in and they are hungry and they're scared and they just need something to try to get by and sometimes you're hungry and you haven't eaten then it's harder to get the services and be open to receive, so that's what this food is for," said One Safe Place's Director of Client Services, Michael Burke.
If you couldn't make it out this morning -- one safe place is still accepting donations at their business office.
