REDDING, Calif. - The jury deliberated Wednesday afternoon, but did not reach a verdict in the case involving a Palo Cedro man charged with causing a crash in which his two young daughters were seriously injured.
Attorneys presented their closing arguments before the jury went into deliberation.
Investigators said 29-year-old Nicolaas Myrtle was under the influence of Xanex, methadone and medical marijuana at the time of the crash.
His 3-year-old daughter is paralyzed from the waist down. His 4-year-old daughter was badly injured in the accident.
The jury will go back into deliberation Thursday morning.
Myrtle is being charged with DUI resulting in injury and two counts of child endangerment.
