CITY OF SHASTA LAKE, Calif. - The Valero Mini Mart on Cascade Boulevard was robbed at gunpoint for the second time in five days, according to the Shasta County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say Erik Rice, 30, walked into the store at around 11:00 p.m. Friday armed with a full-size chrome semi-automatic pistol, and got away with an unknown amount of cash and a carton of cigarettes.
The Sheriff's office and the California Highway Patrol arrived at the store within three minutes of the call for help, but after a search, were unable to locate a suspect.
But, on Saturday morning, they served a search warrant in the 5100 block of Front Street, and arrested Rice.
They have also connected him to last Sunday's robbery. The descriptions of the suspects in both cases were nearly identical.
