Police and Corrections agents nab Most Wanted offender

REDDING, Calif. - Investigators from the Redding Police Department and agents from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Special Service Unit caught and cuffed wanted subject Joshua Ray Vansteen.

Redding Police investigators said Vansteen was spotted Tuesday afternoon, Vansteen in a vehicle near the intersection of Churn Creek Road and South Bonnyview Road.

Investigators attempted to question Vansteen, but he took off running.

Investigators gave chase, ultimately catching up to Vansteen in the 1300 block of Alrose Place, where he was arrested.

Redding Police said Vansteen had five outstanding warrants for his arrest, including possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and possession of methamphetamine.

Anyone with information regarding any person listed on Shasta County's Most Wanted is asked to contact the Redding Police Department at (530)225-4200 or Shasta County Secret Witness at (530)243-2319. Tips can also be submitted through the Shasta County Secret Witness website.

Shasta County Secret Witness also offers rewards of up to $250 for information leading to the arrest of any member of Shasta County's Most Wanted.
