Redding Rancheria: members, be involved in the community

REDDING, Calif. - Two major projects were on today's agenda during the State of The Tribe event.

First was the brand new hotel at Win-River Casino, where the luncheon was held and nearly 500 beaded necklaces were handed out to community members who attended.

Second was the completed renovation at the Redding Rancheria Health Center.

They've built roots here locally, and focus on having a positive impact in the area.

"It's very important for the tribe to be involved in our community. We were born here. We were raised here. We're going to be here forever," says Tracy Edwards, Redding Rancheria's CEO.

The Redding Rancheria is a federally recognized tribe whose land has been with the tribe since 1922.

Edwards says they have very important goals here locally.

"Give back to the community, anyone in need. We support big causes, small causes, pretty much everything," says Edwards.

The tribe raised about $12,000 for the Redding Rancheria Community Fund by selling tickets to today's event.
