REDDING, Calif. - The Redding Police Department released the names of six officers Tuesday who were involved in the shooting of Daniel Copeland on July 5.
The officers were identified as Sergeant Aaron Maready, Officer Wes Townsley, Ofc. Matt Stoker, Ofc. Becky Zufall, Ofc. Ryan Ellis and Ofc. Kevin Kimple.
Copeland, 28, is accused of pointing a shotgun at the officers after police responded to a home on Liberty Street where Copeland allegedly fired a shotgun inside his residence.
All six officers have been placed on paid administrative leave following the incident per protocol. The Shasta County Sheriff's Office is the lead investigating agency in this incident.
Copeland was treated for his wounds following the incident and is now awaiting charges in the Shasta County jail.
