REDDING, Calif. - A 38-year-old Redding woman reported being robbed in front of Ross Dress for Less on Friday around 12:30 p.m.
The woman, Susan Stanbrough told Redding Police that she had been walking toward her car in the Ross parking lot off of Hilltop Dr. when a nearby Ford Ranger pickup truck struck her to the ground with the passenger door.
When Stanbrough was knocked to the ground, the truck's driver attempted to take some of her property. Stanbrough told police that she struggled and scratched the driver across the face.
Still, the thief managed to run off with some of Stanbrough's property and she sustained minor injuries.
The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model white Ford Ranger single cab four by four pickup truck.
The suspect was described to be a white 20 to 25-year-old woman with brown hair in a pony tail wearing jeans and a dark shirt. The passenger in the vehicle was described as a 15 to 20-year-old female.
Less than two weeks ago, a similar incident occurred when on Jan. 9, 65-year-old Merle Davis was unloading items from her shopping cart in front of Ross when a woman ran by, snatched Davis' purse and hopped in the back of what police described as a dark green or grey Dodge pick-up truck.
Davis said she chased after the thief and was struck down and knocked to the ground by the passenger door of the truck in a similar manner to Stanbrough.
Both investigations are ongoing and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Redding Police Dept.
