A woman claiming to be a Siskiyou County Court stenographer was arrested for DUI on Saturday night after officers say she backed into an Anderson Police patrol car.
A witness claims that 61-year-old Cherri Dooley appeared intoxicated as she drove through the Jack in the Box drive-thru several times.
Anderson police contacted Dooley as she sat crying in her idling Lexus. She claimed to be grieving over some family problems.
Initially, the officer couldn't determine that Dooley was under the influence, but she soon backed up and crashed into the officer's parked patrol vehicle. No permanent damage was done to the police car but Dooley's vehicle sustained cracks in the clear coat paint of her rear bumper.
Dooley was then tested for DUI and her blood alcohol level was found to be almost twice the legal limit.
She was arrested for DUI related offenses and booked in the Shasta County Jail.
The case has been turned over to the District Attorney's Office.
