Two injured in explosion on Rose Avenue in Dunsmuir

DUNSMUIR, Calif. - Two people were injured in an explosion in Dunsmuir Wednesday night.

CAL FIRE confirmed it happened around 5 p.m. at a home on Rose Avenue. They said several people reported hearing a loud noise.

One person suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital. A second person suffered moderate injuries. They said a house was also damaged.

The Dunsmuir-Castella Fire Department and Mount Shasta Fire Department were on the scene for about two hours.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
