REDDING, Calif. -

Quartz Hill Road in Redding has been reopened after a vegetation fire Tuesday afternoon.

Redding Fire Battalion Chief Cullen Kreider told KRCR News Channel 7 that the fire burned 6 acres.

The fire broke at 3:42 p.m. Tuesday off of Quartz Hill Road.

Kreider said four engines with Redding Fire were on scene along with 6 Cal Fire engines, two tankers, one helicopter, two water tenders and one dozer.

There were no evacuations and no structures were threatened.

The fire was contained about 2 hours after it broke out.
