REDDING, Calif. -

A Redding man was arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting Tuesday night.

Cleotis Dotson, 26, was arrested after police pulled over his car and discovered shell casings matching those found where the shots were fired.

Several people called 911 just after 9 p.m. Tuesday night.  Witnesses reported several shots fired from a white car on West Street near Laurel Avenue.

Witnesses told police there were two men in the vehicle.  Officers pulled over a white Mercedes matching the suspect vehicle description on Court Street.

Dotson was taken into custody.  Police did not locate a second man witnesses saw in the car.  They did not recover the weapon.

Dotson faces a series of charges including reckless discharge of a firearm and being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
