CHICO, Calif. -

The 19-year-old man accused of killing a 21-year-old Chico State nursing student while driving drunk in September was back in front of a judge Thursday morning.

The preliminary hearing for Riley Hoover was continued because the defense wanted more time to build their case.

Hoover is accused of hitting 21-year-old Kristina Chesterman while driving with a .30 blood alcohol content and fleeing the scene.

Investigators found three pounds of butane honey oil, a concentrated form of marijuana, in Hoover's car the night of the accident.
Hoover's preliminary hearing will now be set for March 7.
