RED BLUFF, Calif. -

High temperatures have Tehama County agencies setting up a cooling center to help the community stay safe in the heat.

The Tehama County Sheriff's Office of Emergency Services, Public Health, Ag Department in connection with the Red Cross, St. Elizabeth Community Hospital and Red Bluff Probation will be opening a cooling center from July 1 through the 3rd.

The cooling center will be open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The cooling center is located at Wetter Hall or the Day Reporting Center at 1840 Walnut St. in Red Bluff.

The American Red Cross will be manning the cooling center and providing bottled water and snacks.

The center is for those who have lost power, have no cooling devices or just need to get out of the heat.

If you cannot reach the cooling center, it is recommended you find a 'cool zone'. These include, libraries, malls, senior centers and community centers.
