RED BLUFF, Calif. - Some of the best cattle and horses in the West were rounded up and readied for auction.
The Tehama District Fairgrounds gates are open for the 73rd annual Red Bluff Bull and Gelding Sale.
Those selling bulls this week may see a price shift per animal, because of the dry conditions.
"If it weren't for the drought, I think we'd be looking at some extremely high bull prices this week. With the drought in place and the uncertainty, you know maybe the prices might be moderated by that a little bit," said Adam Owens, manager of the Red Bluff Bull Sale.
The stands are expected to be packed with more than 2,000 people for Friday night's gelding horse sale.
400 bulls will be up for bid Saturday.
