Man Stabbed Outside of Denny's in Red Bluff

RED BLUFF, Calif. - A man is recovering after he was stabbed outside of Denny's restaurant in Red Bluff.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday outside of the Denny's at Antelope Blvd. and Gilmore Rd.

Police said 50-year-old Jeffrey Wood claimed he had been attacked with a knife.

Wood said he tried to fight off the attacker using a bottle of beer.

Wayne Puffenbarger, one of Wood's friends, who witnessed the attack said the fight began over a cigarette.

"They were fighting, you know, arguing," Puffenbarger said. "The other guy said 'I'm going to pull out a knife.' The next thing you know, he stabbed him."

Wood was taken to Saint Elizabeth Hospital with injuries to his arm and the suspect allegedly left the scene with two women.

The suspect is described as a man in his mid-20's with short brown hair. He was not wearing a shirt when the stabbing took place and he has insane clown posse tattoos on his chest.

Anyone with information on this man is asked to contact the Red Bluff Police Dept.
