ORLAND, Calif. - The Tehama County Sheriff's Office said numerous stolen items and vehicles were found on a property in Orland Friday after a search warrant was issued for the property. The suspect's whereabouts are unknown at this time.
Officials said at 8:00 p.m., the Tehama County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant on Newville Road in Orland. Officials said earlier in the day, the Tehama County Sheriff's Office had received information that numerous stolen vehicles and items were located at a home on Newville Road.
A flyover by CHP aircraft confirmed the presence of several vehicles matching the description of recently stolen vehicles.
Officials said contact was made at the home and it was secured prior to the issuance of the search warrant. After the service of the search warrant, several stolen motorcycles, cars and pickups were located and recovered. The California Highway Patrol assisted in the identification and recovery of the vehicles.
Numerous items were located lying about the property that had recently been reported as stolen from both Tehama County and Glenn County jurisdictions. Victims of the thefts were contacted throughout the night to respond to the located and retrieve some of the stolen items.
Deputies identified Michael Anthony Rogers as the suspect in the numerous burglaries to businesses, vehicles, and homes in the area. It is believed that Rogers lives at the address on Newville Road and was in possession of a huge stockpile of stolen items.
Some of the items believed to be stolen and recovered include; chainsaws, tree climbing equipment, laptops, various lawn care tools, hand tools, and a folding ladder.
