RED BLUFF, Calif. - The Red Bluff Police Department (RBPD) said Tuesday it was notified that a high-risk registered sex offender will be placed in the city.
Daniel James McRoberts, 34, will be placed at 20675 Minch Road. He was convicted of indecent exposure, lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, and kidnapping. His victims were between the ages of 9 and 14. RBPD said he is considered high-risk and there is concern he will re-offend.
McRoberts will be under strict guidelines for his release, including staying away from schools or any other location where children gather. He also cannot drive a motor vehicle and will have a curfew. The state has also mandated he is under direct supervision during the day and evening, along with constant GPS monitoring.
Those terms could be modified if the California Department of Mental Health determines his risk of re-offending has reduced. RBPD and the Tehama County Sheriff's Office said they will keep monitoring McRoberts as long as he lives in the community.
The details released are for information only. Anyone who uses the information to commit a felony or misdemeanor will be subject to additional penalties.
