A convenience store clerk in Corning was attacked on Tuesday by bat-wielding robbers.

The men entered the Tower Mart convenience store with bats. One jumped over the counter while the other went around the counter and started attacking the cashier.

The cashier struggled for a while, but the men left when they heard regular customer Marshell McGill yell that he was going to call the cops.

“I started looking for something to pick up and throw at them,” said McGill. “When I said I was gonna call the cops they decided to clear out, these kids are out to get in trouble.”

The attackers made no attempt to steal anything nor did they say anything to the clerk during the attack.

Corning police searched the area but were not able to find the suspects. The cashier suffered minor injuries. If anyone has any information, they can call Corning police.
