Traffic stop leads to discovery of $900,000 in cocaine inside hidden compartment

WILLOWS, Calif. -

A traffic stop on Interstate 5 in Glenn County led to a $900,000 cocaine bust.  The CHP made the traffic stop on Saturday, August 10 on northbound Interstate 5 near Willows.

CHP officers located a hidden compartment with a suspected controlled substance inside. CHP requested the assistance of the Glenn Interagency Narcotics Task Force (GLINTF) to continue the investigation. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, agents located 9 kilograms of cocaine in a hidden compartment with an approximate street value of $900,000.

The driver, Isidro Martinez-Olmos, age 25 of Portland, Oregon and passenger, Jose Hernandez-Ruiz, age 36 of Vancouver, Washington were both arrested and booked into the Glenn County Jail on a series of charges including possession of a controlled substance for sale

Both subjects are being held on no bail for illegal entry.
