Two people were detained and one of them arrested after a Christmas Day high-speed chase through Redding.
Police attempted to stop a red 2005 Dodge RAM SRT pickup just before noon in the area of East Cypress Avene and Lowden Lane because it didn’t have a front license plate, but the driver failed to yield.
The chase reached speeds of up to 80 mph on Bechelli Lane, before winding its way down Layton Road and Kerryjen Court.
It came to an end when the pickup crashed through a four-foot wooden fence.
Police said the driver, Robert Pasillas, 23, of Redding, fled from the truck on foot, but was caught at the nearby Bechelli Oaks Apartments.
He is being charged with felony evasion and driving on a suspended license. Investigators said he is also on probation for attempted robbery.
A passenger was handcuffed at the crash scene but officers said he was not under arrest.
