Unemployment Across the Northstate Drops Rapidly

Unemployment Numbers Down
REDDING, Calif. -

Unemployment numbers in the North State are as low as they have been since the recession.

Here are the unemployment numbers released by the State on May 17:

Some of the numbers are seasonal, but Labor Market Research Analyst Sheila Scott said the numbers still indicate a recovering economy.

Scott, who works at the State Employment Development Office in Redding, said we are not back at pre-recession levels yet, but we are slowly improving.

Shasta County's unemployment peaked at 14.2 percent in April 2009.
