CHICO, Calif. -

Police are searching for two suspects who attacked a man that was riding his bike under Highway 99 near Manzanita Ct, Tuesday night.

Chico Police Sgt. Rob Merrifield told KRCR News Channel 7 that the victim, 28-year-old Douglas Heinl, was riding around 7:20 p.m. when two suspects tried taking his bike and his guitar.

When the victim refused, Merrifield said one of the suspects took out a pocket knife and stabbed Heinl in the shoulder.

The other suspect struck the victim with object, possibly the guitar.

The injuries are not life threatening.

Both suspects took off.

They're described as Caucasian and Hispanic males.

The Caucasian has long gray hair and a tattoo.

The Hispanic man has a mustached.

Both are between 50 and 60 years old.

Sgt. Merrifield said the victim's bike and guitar were located in a transient area behind the S and S produce store, which is near Mangrove and Highway 99.
