ADIN, Calif. -

CAL FIRE is battling a brush fire 5 miles northwest of Adin in Modoc County.  As of Thursday at 5:30 p.m., the fire had burned 502 acres and was 50% contained.  Forward spread of the fire has been stopped.   CAL FIRE originally named it the 3-7 Fire.   Now they are referring to it as the Fox Fire.

KRCR News Channel 7 Chief Meteorologist, Mike Krueger tracked lightning strikes in the area around 7:25 p.m. Wednesday.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
