REDDING, Calif. -

Market and California Streets might look a little different Friday morning.

Crews are working on the next step of the downtown Redding paving project.

Crews began Thursday night, removing and replacing the asphalt along Market and California Streets.

Traffic controls were scheduled to be in place until 6 a.m. Friday with lanes reduced to two lanes on California Street.

Roadwork will resume Sunday night.  Traffic control will be in place from 8 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday. Drivers will notice the changes to lane configurations and are asked to drive carefully through the area.

Crews are re-striping the downtown area and add bike lanes on California and Pine Streets.
