Young brothers abducted by mother, family pleads for safe return
Family members are begging for the safe return of two young brothers abducted by their mother, Mindy Delgado.
"I just really hope they're safe and that they're OK, and that she just brings them back," said Justine King, an older cousin of seven-year-old Dane Garland and five-year-old Aden Garland.
Delgado failed to return the boys to their legal guardian after a routine, court-approved visitation in the City of Shasta Lake on Saturday night.
The brothers are reported as endangered and at-risk because Delgado does not have legal custody of the two children.
Those related to the young brothers said Delgado would lock the boys in a room for hours, not allowing them to go to the bathroom.
Reasons like that are why family said Delgado’s custody of the children was taken, and that's why they want to see the boys returned safely.
"It's Christmas, and for them not to be here, to be able to open their presents or for us to watch them open them on Christmas, it's sad and it's taken a toll on the family," said King.
Shasta County Sheriff's investigators believe Delgado may still be in the area.
Dane was last seen wearing a brown Volcom shirt, camouflage pants and hiking boots.
Aden was last seen wearing a red t-shirt, blue jeans and white/blue DC brand shoes.
Delgado is believed to be driving a 2001, black, four-door Ford Focus with California license plate 4RHD839.
She is currently wanted by the Shasta County Sheriff's Office for two felony counts of child abduction.
