WILLOWS, Calif. - A Glenn County man is facing domestic violence charges after allegedly firing a BB gun during a dispute with his girlfriend, hitting himself when the projectile ricocheted and hit him in the chin.
Deputies responded to reports of a gunshot on the 600 block of 5th Street at about 3:00 Thursday afternoon.
Cody Kessler, 23, was reportedly found bleeding from his chin. Kessler told deputies he had been in a fight with his 28-year-old girlfriend over dirty dishes. He said he had fired a BB gun at a wooden stand and it bounced back, hitting him.
Inside the home, deputies say they found a small bag of methamphetamine inside the home, and another on Kessler.
Kessler was arrested and booked into the Glenn County Jail.
The girlfriend's 8-year-old daughter was taken into protective custody.
