Man beaten with handgun; suspect still loose

CHICO, Calif. - A Chico man was beaten in the head with a hand gun and the suspect is still on the loose.

According to police, on June 19 at 2:30 p.m. the suspect jumped into the backseat of a car on West 5th and Broadway Streets and demanded the victim's backpack.

The victim got out of the car, but police said the suspect continued to beat him in the Jack-In-The-Box" parking lot.

The suspect is described as a Black male adult about 6'3" in height, a muscular build, shaved head and was seen wearing a dark shirt.

The suspect fled in a dark colored 1990's four-door Saturn or a similar vehicle.

Witnesses at the scene said there were two additional black males in the Saturn when the suspect fled in it.

The victim's wounds were not life-threatening.
