Man stabbed while trimming marijuana

ANDERSON, Calif. - An assault that happened while processing marijuana Thursday leaves one man with a stab wound and another man in Shasta County jail.

The victim, 25-year-old Tynan Yrigollen, was stabbed in the neck.

Someone flagged down a police officer near the 7-11 in Anderson, around 2 p.m. Thursday, seeking help for him.

Later that night at 7:45 p.m. the suspect, 19-year-old Nathan Duvall, turned himself in to Redding Police.

It took investigators a while to sort out what happened, as the witnesses changed their story several times.  Investigators determined the stabbing happened at a home on Weeks Road near Anderson, while several people were trimming medical marijuana plants.

Duvall faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

This article contains a clarification from the previously published version of this story, a dispute over medical marijuana was not the reason for the stabbing as law enforcement officials have said this was an unprovoked attack.
