Man stops to fix car, gets carjacked

REDDING, Calif. - A man who stopped to fix his car was carjacked Thursday in Redding.

According to a Redding Police Department press release, 57-year-old Al Adams pulled into the rear parking lot of the Shopko on Lake Boulevard around 11:30 a.m. because his vehicle was having mechanical problems.

While he was attempting to fix his vehicle Adams was approached by two white male adults. According to police the two suspects approached Adams and began speaking with him. Then the two suspects assaulted Adams, jumped in his vehicle and fled from the scene.

The vehicle is described as a blue/gray 1987 Toyota Camry four door.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Redding Police Department at 530-225-4200.
