CITY OF SHASTA LAKE, Calif. - Shasta County Sheriff's deputies have found a five-year-old boy who had gone missing.
According to Lt. Mark Lillibridge, Dorian Perkins, 5, was on a hike with his dad. At some point, they became separated.
About 15 minutes later, the father called 911.
The search began around 11:15 a.m. west of Lake Boulevard, south of Flanagan Road, and north of Walker Mine Road.
At least 20 Sheriff's Office units were involved in the search in addition to a CHP fixed-wing aircraft.
They searched a primarily wooded area, and a reverse 911 call was issued to homes in the area.
All the while, the child apparently found his way back home, and was ultimately located at his residence.
