New evacuation orders have been issued for the Eiler fire burning in the Thousand Lakes Wilderness.
The Shasta County Sheriff's Office has now increased the evacuation area to include Highway 89 at Cassel Road and all roads encompassing Cassel Road. Additional evacuations include Big Eddy Estates and all roads encompassing Big Eddy Estates.. Friday, evacuations were ordered for all residents on Highway 89 between Doty Road and Wilcox Road.
An evacuation center has been established at Fall River High School at 44215 Walnut St. in McArthur and at Black Butte School near Shingletown.
Officials from the Susanville Interagency Fire Center say structures burned overnight in the Honn Campground area, but they do not know the number or types of structures.
The fire is reported to be 7,000 acres Saturday. CAL FIRE said the fire jumped the highway Friday and is now burning on both sides of Highway 89.
Containment is at 0%.
The Thousand Lakes Wilderness and the Honn, Bridge and Rocky campgrounds along Highway 89 in the fire area are closed. Highway 89 is also closed from the junction with Highway 44 in Old Station north to the junction with Highway 299.
The Pacific Crest Trail is closed from Highway 44 to Highway 299.
