QUETTA, Pakistan (CNN) -

Two gunmen opened fire on a vehicle Tuesday in southwestern Pakistan, killing three people and wounding two others, police said.

It was a "sectarian targeted killing," said Wazir Khan Nasar, deputy inspector general of police in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan Province.

The assailants managed to escape, he said.
