Oroville's Salmon Festival goes swimmingly

Downtown Oroville was swimming with activity on Saturday as people enjoyed the 19th Annual Salmon Festival, Oroville's biggest annual event.

There were free tours at the hatchery and all kinds of booths showcasing what the Oroville community is all about.

A kids zone helped the young ones burn off some energy.

All that aside, everything comes down to the salmon.

"Very good food, of course the fish are from the hatchery," says Bill Caspers of Oroville. "And the beer and wine are fantastic. And it also brings quite a few people outside of the area."

If you missed out on the fun and food Saturday, there's more to come Sunday during the "Bounty of Butte County" at the historic Lott House and Sank Park in Oroville.

There you will have another chance to check out local food, art, agriculture and music.
