Partially nude man prompts Burney school lockdown

BURNEY, Calif. - A partially naked man forced Burney Elementary  School into lockdown Tuesday morning.

Fall River Joint Unified School District Superintendent Greg Hawkins said a man naked from the waist down was standing at the door of the district offices Tuesday around 8 a.m.

He said the man was not wearing pants or underwear.

As a precaution, nearby Burney Elementary School was placed on lockdown, along with the district offices and the alternative education program.

Shasta County sheriff's deputies searched the area but didn't find the man.   They determined there was no danger and the lockdown was lifted a short time later.
