REDDING, Calif. - A 20-year-old Redding woman admitted to burglarizing a house on Aug. 5 with her boyfriend just after being sentenced to four years in state prison for a 2011 burglary.
On Aug. 5, Redding police responded to a residential burglary on Arbor Place where Redding restauranteur Joe Wong reported that his home had been burglarized and $40,000 worth of property had been stolen.
Joe Wong owns several restaurants around Redding including View 202, Cicada, Marie Callender's, Spoon Me, Applebee's and Burger King.
Then, on Aug. 12, police responded to a prowler who was seen lurking in Wong's yard. A neighbor detained the prowler, who was identified as 20-year-old Margaret Brice.
Brice already had a felony warrant out for a residential burglary that took place in 2011 so she was booked in the Shasta County Jail for the warrant and for prowling.
On Wed., Aug. 21, an investigator found a watch that had been pawned at the Heart of Gold on Yuba St., that matched a description of a watch that was stolen from Wong's house.
After finding that the watch had been pawned by Allen Hodge, 54, investigators questioned him. Hodge was on felony probation for possession of stolen property. Police submitted a case involving the pawning of the stolen watch to the district attorney for review.
On Thurs., Aug. 22, Redding Police investigators served a search warrant at an apartment on the 2800-block of Pioneer Lane where they detained eight people including Brice's boyfriend, Rocky Gordan, 32.
Three people were arrested during the search warrant for outstanding warrants. They were: Rebecca September Crowell, 49, who had warrants for drug possession and theft-related crimes, Jeannette LeAnne Young, 39, who had a warrant out for vehicle theft, and Anthony Sanders, 33, who had warrants for drug possession, theft and possession of stolen property. All three were booked at the Shasta County Jail.
When interviewed by investigators, Rocky Gordan admitted to committing the burglary at Wong's house on Aug. 5. He was arrested and booked at the Shasta County Jail for conspiracy to commit burglary, burglary and possession of stolen property.
The same day, Gordan's girlfriend, Brice, admitted to committing the burglary with Gordan hours after she was sentenced to four years in prison for a different burglary.
Investigators were able to recover some of the property stolen from Wong. Brice and Gordan admitted to selling most of it on the street.
