REDDING, Calif. - A Redding man was arrested early Monday, accused of using a remote garage door opener to get into a garage and steal a pickup.
Jack Weed, 31 of Redding, was arrested at 2:48 a.m. after police pulled him over in the stolen truck. He was already on parole for burglary.
Redding Police said Weed broke into a vehicle parked in a driveway on Vermeer Place around 1:15 a.m.. He reportedly used the garage door opener to get into the garage and take a 2000 GMC Sierra truck belonging to John Aboud.
About 90 minutes later, police spotted the truck on Market Street and pulled it over on Highway 299E at E. Stillwater in Redding.
Weed was booked into the Shasta County Jail for vehicle theft, burglary, possession of stolen property and parole violation.
