Police release surveillance images of robbery suspect

CHICO, Calif. - Chico Police have released new surveillance images of the suspect in an armed robbery.

The robbery happened Monday around 3:15 p.m. At East Avenue Liquors at 1354 East Avenue in Chico.  Police said the  suspect entered the store and immediately approached the lone clerk.  

He demanded the cash from the register and told the clerk he had a gun in his waistband.  The clerk complied with his demands and the suspect fled the store immediately.  No-one else was in the store at the time.  

The suspect rode off on a bicycle northbound on Mariposa Avenue.

The suspect is described as a white male, 24-25 years, 5'10", with a large build.  He was wearing a SF Giants black ball cap, grey t-shirt, and yellow backpack.  He was possibly armed with a handgun which was mentioned but not seen.  

Officers are reviewing surveillance video which captured the crime.  If anyone has information about this crime, contact the Chico Police Department at 895-4911.
