Police: Suspect busts patrol car window after arrest

CORNING, Calif. - A man was arrested in Corning early Thursday, accused of assaulting officers and busting out the window of a police car.

It started with a traffic stop.  Corning Police pulled over 26-year-old Emanuel Cervantes just before 2 a.m. in the 1800 block of 99W in Corning.

Police said officers found meth on him.  After Cervantes was put in the back of a police car, he then broke out the rear passenger window.  Cervantes continued to resist, throwing himself to the ground and kicking officers.

He was eventually put into a different patrol car, and while being transported to jail, he allegedly spit on the officer.  He was arrested for resisting arrest, vandalism, possession of a controlled substance and assault on a peace officer.
