REDDING, Calif. - Redding police officers responded to the 2900 block of Lakewood Drive after getting a call from concerned neighbors regarding a disturbance with possible shots fired.
Upon arrival Redding police contacted Bernard Ohe and 70-year-old David Adams. Police said both men had gone to the residence to serve court paperwork and to retrieve some property from Carol Adams.
Adams is the mother of Steven Motley the 33-year-old man who died three days after being arrested by Redding police.
Upon arrival they started arguing . When Redding police arrived, all of the involved parties denied that any shots were fired.
"During our investigation we were unable to determine conclusively if shots were in fact fired which was a result of a restraining order service that kind of went sideways," said Corporal Chris Smyrnos.
No one was injured during this incident and no evidence of any fired shots was located.
