Shooting in Tehama County leaves one dead, another injured

OUTSIDE RED BLUFF, Calif. - The Tehama County Sheriff's Department is investigating a fatal shooting near the Iron Canyon Trailhead five miles northeast of Red Bluff.

The shooting happened around noon Friday. According to Tehama County Sheriff Dave Hencratt, the two victims are men in their 60's. Both were allegedly shot with a handgun 200 yards from the start of the trail. One man died and the other was transported to a local hospital where the extent of his injury is unknown.

The shooting is being called suspicious and there is no clear motive.

Law enforcement is searching the area for the suspect and say he is considered armed and dangerous. They are working to release an exact description of the suspect, check back for updates.
