Shots fired into home narrowly miss sleeping woman

CHICO, Calif. - Shots fired into a home narrowly missed a Chico woman as she slept Tuesday morning.

The incident was reported at 2:19 a.m. at a residence in the 600 block of W. 4th Avenue.  Chico Police Officers were dispatched after several people reported the gun shots.

Officers found several discharged casings from a shotgun and rifle in the street at W. 4th Ave. and Warner Street.

Police discovered a residence had been shot several times, both through the walls and windows. The occupants of that residence were not injured.

The bullets also traveled through a wall, into an adjacent residence.  Police found a woman had been asleep in a chair when the bullets penetrated the wall above where she was sleeping and continued through her home.

She was covered in sheetrock dust, which she was not aware of until police notified her about the shooting which narrowly missed her.
