Six Agencies Fight Fire Near Highway 32 in Orland

ORLAND, Calif. - A fire near Highway 32 in Orland brought six agencies out to fight it Tuesday afternoon, preventing it from reaching nearby structures.

The cause of the fire was a spark from equipment being used to clear weeds – it was one of three fires in Orland on Tuesday that were caused by equipment.

Because the fire began in a creek bed where there were dry reeds and other brush to fuel it, Orland Fire Dept. called out several other agencies including Artois Fire Dept., CALFIRE, Corning Fire Dept. and Willows Fire Dept.

Orland Fire Dept. told us that the fire reached about five acres in size. As of 3:45 p.m., the fire was fully contained.
