Suspect flees on foot after leaving stolen car

ANDERSON, Calif. - Anderson police arrested a 24-year-old man early Sunday morning, who they believe stole a car.

Police said Justin Ford of Anderson was spotted in a stolen green 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse on Riverside Avenue in Anderson around 2 a.m.

Police then followed Ford down Donald Lane.

Ford allegedly deserted the car at the end of the road and was captured by officers on foot.

Police said they also discovered meth inside the car.

"Right now he's being charged with multiple counts of possession of stolen property," said Officer Casey Day of the Anderson Police Department. "One for the vehicle that was stolen and other stolen property that we are still investigating that was found inside the vehicle."

Ford also had five misdemeanor warrants out for his arrest.

He was booked into the Shasta County Jail Sunday morning.
