Three injured in rollover crash in South Redding

REDDING, Calif. - The eastbound lane of South Bonnyview Road in Redding was closed Friday morning after a rollover crash involving two vehicles.

The crash happened around 9:45 a.m. on South Bonnyview near Indianwood Drive just west of Interstate 5.  The eastbound lanes of South Bonnyview Road were closed for three hours.

Angell Randall, 66, of Redding was driving a 1999 Chevy Suburban west bound on South Bonneyview when she lost control of her vehicle, crossed over the center median, knocked down a light pole and then collided with a white Toyota coupe.

The driver of the Toyota, Thomas Meissner, 56, of Redding was transported to Mercy Medical Center in critical condition.  Randall and her passenger, Melvin Libby, 56 of Anderson, were also transported to Mercy and are currently listed in stable condition.

There were also two dogs in one of the vehicles. Due to the patients injuries officials on scene were unable to determine whom the dogs belong. Shasta County animal control took possession of the animals after a bystander kept them safe following the crash.
