Trinity County man killed in logging accident

HAYFORK, Calif. - A 20-year-old Weaverville man died after an industrial accident in Trinity County.

According to a news release from the Trinity County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened at 12:40 p.m. on Friday, January 10.

Trinity County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting an industrial accident at a logging operation near Wildwood Road in the Hayfork area. The victim of the accident was identified as Skylar Williams, 20, of Weaverville.

Williams sustained multiple injuries while logging with a crew and was being transported by fellow employees to meet with medical personnel.  He was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Redding for treatment.

Trinity County Sheriff's Office was contacted later and advised that Williams had succumbed to his injuries while in route to Mercy Medical Center.
