Two Arrested For Chico Gang Stabbing

CHICO, Calif. -

Police said a gang-related stabbing in Chico early Saturday landed two people in the hospital and two man under arrest.

It started just after midnight at Nord Garden Apartments at 1521 Nord Avenue.

Police responded to a complaint about a party.  Officers saw a large group gathered at the complex.  Several people ran off as police arrived.

Witnesses told police two people had been stabbed during the gathering.  Officers stopped some of the people who had run from the complex.

Based on witness accounts and evidence just before 4 a.m. they arrested Alexander Sanchez, 22, for the stabbing. 

A short time later Christian Nava, 20 was also arrested for assault with a deadly weapon stemming from the same incident.  Nava was one of the two people who suffered a stab wound.

The victims were taken to Enloe Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
