Update: Chico Gas Station Robbed By Man In Black Facepaint

CHICO, Calif. - Police are searching for a gunman who held up a gas station.

It happened at the 76 Station at Nord and West 8th Avenues at 7:20 p.m. Monday.

The suspect, whose face was painted black, pulled out a gun and demanded cash.  He ordered the clerk to open a locked door, in search of a safe.  But the locked door led only to a utility closet.

He took off with money from the cash register.

Police say the suspect was about 6'4", 220 pounds.  He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
