REDDING, Calif. - A man with four outstanding warrants out for his arrest barricaded himself into a Redding home on the 3700 block of Wasatch Ave Wednesday afternoon.
Police officials showed up to the home around 10:30 a.m. to conduct a welfare check on 27-year-old Eric Brown. After being uncooperative with police, Brown hid and barricaded himself inside. His mother was inside the home as well.
The Shasta County S.W.A.T. team was called out, and at one point a CHP helicopter was flying overhead. Police sealed off Wasatch Ave and ordered residents to stay inside.
After two hours of negotiations, Brown's mother agreed to exit the home. She was brought out in handcuffs, questioned, and then released. Officers said she was not being held against her will.
Meanwhile, Brown exited the home through the back door where S.W.A.T. members took him into custody.
Brown was taken to the Shasta County Jail. He was booked on the four previous warrants which consisted of grand theft, terrorist threats, brandishing a weapon, battery, and is now facing a new charge of resisting arrest and violation of probation.
