Walk-in clinic employees nab robber until police arrive

CHICO, Calif. - Chico Police arrested a suspect who robbed a Chico walk-in medical clinic.   It happened a little after 7 p.m.  Sunday at the Chico Immediate Care at 376 Vallombrosa Avenue.

Police said 37-year-old Daniel Ruggiero  walked into the clinic and asked staff if they could call him a cab.  Ruggiero then walked into the employee area and demanded money from the employees.

Ruggiero allegedly threatened to shoot the employees and took the cash box.  He was subdued and held on the ground by several employees until police arrived.

Officers found no weapon on him.  Ruggiero was booked for robbery.  Police said he is a transient in Chico.
